COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A man has been arrested after a shooting in Merion Village left one person dead.

According to Columbus police, the shooting was reported at 5:02 p.m. in the 400 block of East Markison Avenue on Dec. 28, 2021. Police found 38-year-old Darold Reese in the residence suffering from a gunshot wound.

Reese was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and was pronounced dead at 5:31 p.m.

On Jan. 11, 2022, SWAT arrested Ricky D. Jobe, 37, and charged him with murder in connection with Reese’s death, according to a media release from Columbus Division of Police.

This was the 201st homicide in Columbus for 2021.
