One dead in early morning Northeast Columbus shooting; suspect still on the loose


COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One person is dead and the suspect remains free following an early morning shooting in northeast Columbus.

Columbus Police said the shooting happened around 7:27 a.m. on the 2000 block of Berrell Avenue.

According to Columbus Police, officers found the victim, Talyn Key, 34, unresponsive at the scene. He was pronounced dead at 7:35 a.m.

Police said Key was involved in a confrontation with a suspect when he was shot.

The suspect is still on the loose.

This is the 141st homicide in Columbus for 2021.
