COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – One person has died after a shooting in west Columbus on Thursday night.

Authorities responded to Hambrick Street and Avonia Drive in the Georgian Heights neighborhood around 8:48 p.m., according to the Columbus Division of Police. The victim, 15-year-old Jafar Shalid, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead at 10:01 p.m.
