COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — In the past week, Columbus drivers have seen a significant increase in gas prices.  

According to GasBuddy.com, the average cost of a gallon of gas has risen 16.6 cents to $3.11.  

That is 2.3 cents higher than a month ago and 80.5 cents more than a year ago.  

The cheapest gas in the Columbus area was $2.57, with the most expensive $3.37 a gallon.  

Nationally, the average price of gas has increased 2.3 cents to $3.29.
