The Delaware Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash that happened on August 30, 2018 on U.S. 36 near milepost 6 in Scioto Township, Delaware County.

According to OSHP, Bridey S. Thompson, 46, of Columbus was driving a gray 2008 Mercedes-Benz westbound on U. S. 36. Thompson drove off the right side of the road and struck a ditch, several trees, then overturned, the vehicle eventually coming to rest on its top.

Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by the Delaware County Coroner and was transported to the Delaware County Morgue.

Police say that Thompson was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Investigators say that alcohol use is suspected to be a factor in this accident.

OSHP will continue investigating the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Delaware County EMS and the Scioto Township Fire Department.
