COLUMBUS (WCMH)- It’s a ceremony rich in tradition for one central Ohio school. The Columbus City Preparatory School for Boys will have its tie-tying ceremony this week to welcome its students.
The ceremony is more than just tying the perfect knot. It’s about letting these young boys know the community loves and supports them. Principal Dion Drakeford is looking forward to the event.
“I want the scholars to walk away saying or to feel that sense of community and feel that we have them now we are going to carry them forward,” said Drakeford.
The ceremony has been around since 2010.
Organizers tell me the ceremony is Thursday morning starting at 9:30.
