Columbus records 114th homicide making 2017 second-deadliest year in city’s history

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — One person is dead after the report of a shooting on the east side, according to Columbus Police.

It happened near the intersection of East Mound Street and Lilley Avenue around 8:10pm, Sunday.

Dispatchers with Columbus police said one person was dead. There is no suspect information at this time.

According to police this is the 114th homicide of 2017, marking the 2nd highest number of homicides in the city, second only to 139 homicides in 1991.List of homicides in Columbus by year:
