Columbus police searching for Petland puppy thief

Local News

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police in Columbus are searching for a female who’s accused of stealing a mixed breed puppy worth thousands of dollars.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 6:45pm, March 30, a black female entered the Petland located in the 2600 block of Bethel Road and asked to see a puppy.

Police say the female played with the $4,500 brown and white Shiranian ( a mix of a Shih Tzu and Pomeranian) before placing the puppy in her backpack and walking out of the store.

The manager told police that two black males with the female created a distraction by yelling at each other across the store, while the female stole the puppy.

Anyone with information on the suspects can call CPD’s Burglary Unit at 614-645-2179.
