Columbus police searching for man charged with murder

Columbus Police homicide detectives have filed murder charges against Lonzo Al Doughty for the August 20 murder of Julian Higgins.

On August 20, at approximately 3:18am, Columbus Police officers responded to a report of a body found near a dumpster in the 600 block of Wedgewood Drive.

Police say that at that location, they found Julian Davis Higgins, 31, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Higgins was pronounced dead at the scene by Columbus Fire medics.

Columbus Police investigators are actively searching for Lonzo Al Doughty, 31, who has been charged with this homicide.

According to police, the location of Doughty is currently unknown and he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone encountering Doughty is asked to call 911 immediately and to not approach.
