COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus police have released several hours of footage of the arrest of porn star Stormy Daniels at a strip club last week.
During the video, Daniels is compliant with officers while they search her, place her in handcuffs and eventually book her into jail.
In the video, officers ask Daniels if she is aware of the Ohio law preventing strippers from touching patrons. Daniels responds that she has never heard of the law, and states that it was supposed to be the club’s responsibility to make her aware of any state laws.
Also in the video, Daniels says it’s been more than 10 years since she last performed in Columbus.
Charges were dropped against Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, Friday, because the law used to charge Daniels says employees who regularly appear nude or semi-nude inside a strip club cannot touch customers.
City Attorney Zach Klein said the charge against Stormy Daniels was dismissed because she had not regularly appeared at Sirens Gentleman’s Club as the law requires.
Columbus Division of Police Chief Kim Jacobs said, “A mistake was made, and I accept full responsibility. . . The motivation behind the officers’ actions will be reviewed internally.”
