Columbus police recover stolen vehicle with an infant inside

Local News

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A child was found inside a stolen vehicle, according to Columbus police.

Police reported the stolen vehicle from the United Dairy Farmers store on Reynoldsburg Road around 1:30 pm on Monday.

The vehicle, with the 7-month-old girl safe inside, was found about 20 minutes later on Delaware Crossing Street, a short distance away from the United Dairy Farmers store where it was reported stolen.

The girl’s mother, Haven James, breathed a sigh of relief when her baby was returned.

“I don’t know like it was everything negative you could think goes through your mind within that time frame that your baby is not with you and some complete stranger just takes your car and takes your baby too,” she said.

No arrests have been made at this time, police said, but they are searching for two suspects.

NBC4 will report more as information becomes available.
