Columbus police looking for suspect after Mexican restaurant robbed

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police in Columbus are looking for a man who they say robbed a Mexican restaurant on Refugee Road.

It happened around 9:16 p.m. on May 12 at the Tacoriendo Restaurant at 3892 Refugee Road.

Police say a man walked into the restaurant carrying a handgun and a black bag. He threw the bag behind the counter and demanded money from the register, police said.

The clerk complied and placed money in the bag. Police said the man then ran out the front door.

Police described the suspect as a mixed-race male standing 5’11 and weighing between 220 and 230 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black glasses, blue jeans and black and gray shoes with red in the back.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call police at 614-645-4665.
