Columbus Police are investigating an alleged dog theft in South Columbus.

Thanks to neighbors, police have some help in their search for a suspect.

Donald Young said on July 3rd, someone opened the gate of his backyard and took his dog, Winston.

Donald and his wife Teresa called police.

Now Columbus Police say they’re looking for a man captured on various security cameras throughout Young’s neighborhood.

The man is clearly seen on camera riding his bike past Young’s home before circling then going out of view before reappearing with Winston following behind him down an alley.

Donald says he found Winston in the backyard of a home on Ohio Avenue.

A Columbus Police report indicates officers went to that same home to question the man but he wasn’t there.

So Donald Young says he wants your help.

“I would definitely encourage people that if you know this individual to come forward to the police,” said Young.

No arrests have been made and no names have been released.

If you have information about the man you are asked to call Columbus Police.
