COLUMBUS (WCMH)– Columbus police are investigating after a body was found in Big Walnut Park.

According to a detective with CPD, the body was found by a couple of teenagers Sunday night, Nov. 11.

A detective says the body was badly decomposed, and police called an anthropologist from Ohio State University to come out and help extract the body. Detectives are hoping that the little skin that is left on the fingers can help determine an ID or run some bone test.

A neighbor didn’t want to give his name but said this is the second body found in the area in five years.

Franklin County Coroner Dr. Ortiz said it could take up to four weeks for the remains to be identified.
