Columbus Police identify man accused of shooting officer during Linden drug raid

Columbus Police have identified the man suspected of shooting an officer during a drug raid in the Linden neighborhood.

 According to police, Dennis Earl Green, 22, of Columbus, is charged with felonious assault on a police officer, a first-degree felony.

The shooting happened around 1:20pm on June 29 on the 1500 block of Cordell Avenue. Officers were conducting a drug raid at the residence when Officer Robert Lagore, a 23-year veteran of the force, was shot in the foot and taken to a local hospital.

Green appeared in Franklin County Municipal Court Saturday morning. His bond was set at $3,000,058. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 9.

Four other people were arrested during the raid. Police have not released their identities at this time.
