Columbus police asking for help to identify an armed robbery suspect

Columbus police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed an east side Wendy’s restaurant at gunpoint on September 1.

According to Columbus police, on September 1, just after 10am, a man entered a Wendy’s restaurant located at 819 N. Nelson Road, brandished a silver handgun and demanded that an employee open the register.

Investigators say that the employee complied and the suspect removed an unknown amount of money from the register and fled the scene on foot.

The incident was captured on surveillance cameras. 

The suspect is described as a black male, mid 20’s, 6’0″, 180 lbs, dark complexion wearing a black Adidas hoodie with white lettering, black Adidas sweatpants and black shoes.

Anyone with information as to the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Columbus Police Robbery Unit at 614-645-4665.
