COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The Columbus Division of Police says officers have arrested a wanted human trafficker on the west side of the city.
Police arrested Andrew Harris, AKA Bobby Eric Smith or “Jamaican Rick,” on June 7 at 9:30pm.
Harris is accused of compelling women into prostitution “through extreme violence and the exploitation of their heroin addictions.”
Police say in one incident, a female was tortured with a blow torch after refusing to perform numerous sex acts.
Police say Harris and associates promoted prostitution on the website Backpage.
