COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien says a Columbus man has been indicted for murder after allegedly shooting and killing his neighbor.

Joshua Samuel Ferrell, 30, has been indicted for two counts of murder with firearm specifications. He is accused of killing his neighbor, 51-year-old Mario Dipenti, the afternoon of May 2.

Police say Dipenti and Ferrell had been arguing for several days when it escalated and led to the shooting. O’Brien says Dipenti was walking by Ferrell’s home when Ferrell left and confronted him. A struggle ensued and Ferrell reportedly shot Dipenti in the chest.

Ferrell will be arraigned May 29.
