COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus community leaders gathered Monday night to honor Rosa Parks.

They held a forum one day after the 64th anniversary of Parks refusing to give up her seat on a bus.

Her actions in 1955 sparked the Montgomery bus boycott and fast-tracked the effort to end segregation.

Ohio was the first state to designate Dec. 1 as Rosa Parks Day to recognize her life and legacy.
