Clerk shot at during armed robbery at Country Food Store

The Columbus Division of Police needs your help to find a suspect who shot at a local food store clerk during an armed robbery.

The incident occurred at 9:44 p.m. on Sunday when the suspect entered the Country Food Store, 3861 Sullivant Ave. and pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money, according to police.

The suspect reportedly became upset after the clerk gave the suspect a small amount of money and fired the gun at the clerk, missing him and demanded more money, police said.

The clerk opened the register and gave the suspect an unknown amount of money, according to police.

The suspect grabbed the money from the clerk and fled the scene with an unknown amount of money in a dark-colored vehicle that was waiting for him on the west side of the building, according to police

The suspect is described as a black male, Somali, 5’8”-5’11,” wearing a North Face black, white and  green camouflage jacket with a hoody. Black and white mask, blue jeans and black shoes.

The suspect was carrying a black handgun and a brown plastic Kroger bag.
