New fire station has decontamination room to help prevent cancer

The fourth fire station in the City of Delaware opened in early February.

The new facility is in a growing part of the jurisdiction, according to Fire Chief John L. Donahue,

Since 2010, the city’s population has increased 19 percent.

The average run time for fire and EMS to the southeast quadrant was more than seven minutes. Since fire station 304 opened, run time are down to an acceptable time of six minutes.
