Central Ohio wrestling coach charged with failing to stop hazing incident

FRANKLIN, OH (WCMH) — A wrestling coach from central Ohio is facing charges after police say he failed to stop a hazing incident. 

According to the Franklin Police Department, in June of last year, the Ohio All Stars Wrestling Team, based out of Columbus, rented the Franklin City Schools Facilities prior to a west-coast trip.  

Police say during one of the practices on July 2, a teen wrestler from Cincinnati reported he was the victim of a hazing incident that was reported to police.  

After investigating, police charged the organization’s coach, Bart Freidenberg, 58, of Pickerington, with child endangering and hazing after failed to stop the hazing despite being aware of it, according to police.
