Central Ohio storm leaves damage behind

Local News

COLUMBUS (WCMH) – High winds made their way through our viewing area Tuesday, pushing over trees and power lines, even ripping the roof from homes.

A homeowner in Bloomingburg says he lives in fear now that part of his roof is gone.

“We heard a great Big Bang like it was thunder, but it wasn’t thunder,” said William Blake.

Blake’s wife and child were terrified.

“She was in the shower screaming help me help me she didn’t know what was going on,” said Blake. “It was some kind of wind, tornado, I don’t know, lifted our entire roof off.”

William is disabled and can’t climb up to make any repairs himself. Luckily, his neighbors stepped in and placed a tarp in hopes that if it rains, no more water will enter the home.

For now, the family is waiting on the insurance company to come and look at the damage.
