Central Ohio hardware stores are already beginning to prepare for winter.

Local News

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — With minor snow accumulation expected by Tuesday morning, customers were already buying supplies at Schreiner Ace Hardware.

“I want to make sure I have my ice melt, in case we get snow,” said Barb Bloetscher. “We have a lot of little children that walk down the sidewalk and I don’t want anybody to fall and get hurt.”

Jeff Lynn, manager of Schreiner Ace Hardware, said his store is stocked with ice scrapers, deicer, ice melt and shovels, and there is no shortage of product.

“We’ve got several trucks of ice melt either on site, or on the way here,” he said.

Lynn also told NBC4 that his store is still selling plenty of fall supplies, along with the winter gear.
