COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Three cars were set on fire overnight at an apartment complex in northwest Columbus.
According to a police dispatch report, at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday morning three cars were set on fire in the parking lot of the Harper House at the Highlands on Sawmill Place Boulevard, near West Dublin Granville Road. One of the cars’ tires were stolen, investigators said.
Some apartment tenants told NBC4 they noticed tires being taken off other vehicles in the parking lot earlier in the week. Residents agreed that they’re scared and upset following the fires — and they want to see security improvements.
“I wish they would have like some gated community, and have key access or something, so that way this wouldn’t happen,” said resident Rishi Kakarla.
The apartment manager declined to comment.
An arson unit and firefighters are investigating the fires, but there is no suspect at this time.
