COLUMBUS (WCMH) – A major gaming tournament is underway in the city. The Call of Duty World Championship 2018 is happening at Nationwide Arena.

Players say this is the Super Bowl of the gaming world. Thousands of tickets are sold, and more than a million dollars are up for grabs.

Matteo Faithfull came all the way from Canada.

“When you get to the call of duty championship it’s a completely different atmosphere. There’s so many people and the prize way bigger,” said Faithfull.

32 of the best Call of Duty teams from all over the world compete for the title.

Among the competitors is professional Call of Duty player Douglas “FaZe Censor” Martin.

Martin made headlines last month when he dumped his longtime girlfriend, ‘world’s sexiest weathergirl’  Yanet Garcia to spend more time playing video games.
