A man entered the Heartland Bank yesterday, showed the teller a small black object and implied it was a bomb.

He wanted money, and threatened the bomb would explode, according to Columbus Division of Police.

The suspect wore a black coat with a hood and a black knit cap, police said in a social media post. He was about six feet tall. The photo with the post was of the alleged robber.

Columbus Division of Fire Bomb Squad personnel determined the device was not an actual bomb.

Anyone with info on the suspect’s identity is asked to contact CPD’s Robbery Unit at 614-645-4665 or jherman@columbuspolice.org or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers.
