COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A Columbus man killed in a New Year’s Day hit-skip accident has been identified.
Police say 37-year old Jonas Sims was walking in the roadway of Refugee Rd. Friday morning when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle.
Emergency crews received the call of a body found in the area around 6 a.m..
Police determined it was a hit-skip crash and are searching for the driver of the vehicle that hit and killed Sims.
They say the vehicle will have front-end damage and will be missing plastic molding from under and around the front bumper.
