Mother Nature sent gusting winds rolling through Bexley Wednesday morning.
Kasey Welch woke up to an 85-foot tree laying in his front yard.
“That’s the second 85-foot tree that has come down. We had one come down last summer as well,” said Welch.
The strong wind whipped out his fence in his backyard. Taking down any and everything in its path.
City and local tree removal crews went from block to block cleaning up and cutting down trees.
“We start with seven phone calls from different people with trees in their house,” said landscaper, Brandon Alarcon.
Brandon Alarcon and his father say they just want to help any way they can.
And that is the mindset of many people on the neighborhood, willing to give a helping hand where it is needed.
“I’ve had this happen once before and neighbors came to help me get a tree out of the bushes, a big one. It’s not unusual, people are really helpful around here,” said resident David Brandt.
Trees ripped up by the root in Bexley. Some trees have fallen on homes. Thank goodness none of the people that we spoke with and according to Columbus Fire no one was hurt in this storm. pic.twitter.com/IFK2znQH4r— Tyler Carter (@TylerCarterNews) September 26, 2018
