Attempted robbery at Family Dollar on W. Broad, police searching for suspect

Columbus (WCMH)—Columbus police are searching for a man they believe robbed the Family Dollar store on West Broad Street.

According to police, on Dec. 23 around 9:22am, a man entered Family Dollar and approached the checkout counter. He demanded money, but ran from the store after the employee was unable to get the cash register open.

The man is described as a black man in his late 20s to early 30s. He is 5’8” and has a skinny build with thick eyebrows

According to police, the suspect was wearing a black hooded jacked and blue jeans with a black scarf wrapped around his face.
