COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The 58th annual Columbus Arts Festival is officially underway.

Located on teh riverfront, the festival includes just about everything from art galleries to live bands to local craft beer.

This year’s festival had over 1,000 applicants from 45 states and three countries.

A few years ago, the event hosted 350 artists. This year, that number is down to 260, which is an intentional move, according to the festival’s director.

“The more artists that are here, the less money that goes to each of those artists,” said festival director Sean Kessler. “The money spreads out a bit. We like to take care of those, get the quality of art work up a bit, just so everybody’s happy.”

The Columbus Arts Festival will run until 10:30 p.m. Friday, and open both Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m.
