Alcohol suspected in fatal single-vehicle Licking Co. crash

Authorities suspect alcohol played a role in a single-car crash on Hardscrabble Road in Licking County that resulted in the death of a 20-year-old man, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at about 8:16 p.m. Saturday when troopers say Jacob M. McNamara, of Johnstown, drove his 2007 Toyota Camry off the left side of the road north of Battee Road. struck a ditch, a signpost, two trees and overturned, according to the highway patrol.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

McNamara was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
