After intense cold, snow day on Friday perfect for sledding

Local News

There was no school for many kids throughout central Ohio, but it was the perfect day to be a kid.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the polar vortex brought extreme cold to the area which caused schools to cancel.

On Friday, there were several inches of snow, but no dangerous temperatures.

It was perfect for a kid like, Oliver Yetman, who is a fifth grader.

“It’s fun. It’s a five day weekend and we’ve only had two days of school,” said Yetman.

Since snow was in the forecast many families looked for a hill so their kids could go sledding.

“I like to fall off the sled because I get to roll down after the sled keeps going,” said Aiyann Orrante, a sixth-grader.

Oliver’s dad, Chris, said, he too, enjoyed a fun day sledding on the hills.

“I’m probably enjoying it more than they are,” said Chris.

Chris added that this is also a way to tire out the kids so they will sleep once they get home
