AEP continues to work toward restoration in Grove City after tornado

Local News

American Electric Power crews are working around the clock to restore electricity to more than three dozen homes, in Grove City.

As of Sunday evening, AEP reported roughly 40 customers remained without power.

A city spokesman said 3,800 customers had originally lost electric service, due to Tuesday’s tornado.

“There’s no reason to be frustrated at any person, or any organization,” said David Arrell, a customer still without power. “It’s just an inconvenience. It’s part of life.”

According to AEP, work was temporarily delayed after workers hit a gas line, on Saturday.

Crews have said they will work to restore power on Orders Road, through Monday evening.

Work is expected to continue on Hoover Road, through early Tuesday evening.

In total, 22 power poles were damaged or destroyed in this week’s storm.
