A man who went missing while tubing on the Kokosing River was found dead a couple miles from where he was reported missing, according to the Knox County Sheriffs Office.
Mark Booth, 40, of Mount Vernon, was reported missing at about 5:04 p.m. on Thursday when 911 dispatchers received a call about a possible drowning on the Kokosing River near the Caves Campground, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies say that a group of four people had been tubing on the river when an incident occurred.
A 42-year-old female was rescued while holding onto a branch. However, Booth, who had also been in the water, could not be located on Thursday.
Teams resumed the search on Friday morning, and found his body at about 10.45am, 4,500 feet downstream from the last sighting, the Knox County Sheriff said in a press release.
