2 arrested after leading police, deputies on chase

Local News

Two people are in custody after leading Columbus Division of Police’s helicopter unit and Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies on a six-minute chase in a truck that had been reported stolen.

Richard K. Lee of Circleville and another occupant of a Ford Heavy Duty truck were arrested after Lee was reportedly seen driving recklessly near Grener Avenue and Sullivant Avenue. Lee allegedly refused to stop the truck when approached by deputies, according to Sheriff Dallas Baldwin in a press release.

Baldwin said the vehicle stopped on Haul Road at Ohio Route 104 after deputies deployed Stop Sticks and deflated the tires on the truck.

Lee, who also had a felony warrant for his arrest in Fairfield County, was charged with numerous traffic offenses, including driving under suspension, fleeing and receiving stolen property, Baldwin said.

He is now in the Franklin County Jail.

The other individual in the truck was released.
