According to the Whitehall Division of Police, officers were called to Fountain Lane on the report of a shooting just before 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police say two men, who were neighbors in the apartment complex, got into a fight in the parking lot, when one pulled a gun and shot the other.

Officers found Dion Lamarr, 37, in the parking lot, dead from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest.

Clifford L. Patterson Jr.

Clifford L. Patterson Jr., 40, was taken into custody at his apartment on Fountain Lane.

Patterson has been charged with murder and has been taken to the Franklin County Jail, according to police.

Police said a firearm was found at the scene.

“These two men were neighbors that had an ongoing dispute with each other,” said Whitehall Police Deputy Chief Dan Kelso. “Today, an argument in the parking lot escalated to a shooting. It is a real tragedy that is compounded by the fact it happened on Mother’s Day.”
