1 man dead, 2 injured after vehicle crashed into tree in Butler County

A man is dead and two others are injured after a single-vehicle crash in Butler County on Saturday.

The crash occurred at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday on Hamilton Eaton Road just south of Spring Road when a vehicle traveling north on Hamilton Eaton Road went off the road and down an embankment and struck a tree, according to Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones.

A passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger has been identified as 19-year-old Brayden Leaker of Hamilton, Ohio.

The driver and another passenger were transported to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, and will be released by the Butler County Coroner’s Office pending completion of an autopsy, Jones said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
