COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A woman is dead and several others were injured after a crash in Delaware County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at about 4:59 p.m. Friday, Kenze J. Cox, 39, of Sunbury, was driving a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C250 eastbound on S.R. 521 when she was struck by a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser that failed to yield at a stop sign on County Road 34.
Cox was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 24-year-old driver of the PT Cruiser, identified by police as Amanda C. Knave, 24, of Columbus, was transported to Grant Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries.
Two female juvenile passengers in Cox’s vehicle, as well as a female juvenile passenger in the PT Cruiser were taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for non-incapacitating injuries.
Troopers continue to investigate, but say alcohol or drug use is unknown at this time. Police said
Knave was wearing her seatbelt at the time, police said, adding it is unknown if any of the other people involved in the accident were using their seatbelts as well.
