The video has gone viral!
It shows rats, about four of them, running up and down along a wall outside Waffle House, 4595 West Broad Street.
NBC 4 Investigator contacted the woman who shot the video, as well as the Franklin County Public Health Department.
Tiana Ellis told Sussi she recorded the rodents on August 19, while she waited in the parking lot of a nearby gas station. “I saw them out of the corner of my eye,” Said Ellis. “I didn’t know what they were at first, but they were big.”
They turned out to be rats. An inspector with FCPH came across Ellis’ video she posted on her Facebook page, and two days later, they inspected the restaurant both outside and inside. According to the report, the inspector didn’t see any new rat activity and noted the restaurant’s pest control company replaced broken bait boxes. A spokesperson with FCPH told Sussi inspectors went back again August 23, and didn’t see any signs of rats outside or inside the restaurant.
On Thursday, Sports On Tap, 4030 Main Street, Hilliard, has an Administrative Hearing with FCPH, due to repeated and uncorrected violations. Over the past two months, there’s been three inspections for a total of 87 violations, 26 of them critical. - Food not properly date-marked.
- Expired food.
- Food not properly cooled.
