COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Alex Martin said he had big dreams.
“I always loved to be a radio personality,” explained the OSU graduate. “I thought I had a nice voice for it.”
Turns out, he’s pretty good in the kitchen, too.
Two years ago, Alex Martin went from head chef of the Blu Olive food truck to owning it. During that period, Martin has had flawless health inspections.
Which is why Martin gets the NBC4 Up To Code Award.
Blu Olive used to feature Mediterranean food. These days, it’s Italian.
“We make our own meatballs, make our own pasta sauces,” he told NBC4 Investigator Tom Sussi. “We have a build-your-own pasta station.”
The recipe for running a successful food truck?
“It’s hard work and perseverance. And just being able to tolerate the weather!”
