Delicias Grill may face sanctions due to repeat food safety violations

Up to Code

A West Side Columbus restaurant may have run out of second chances with the health department. And we’re honoring a Pickerington favorite with the coveted NBC 4 Up To Code Award.

NBC 4 Investigator Tom Sussi has reported on Delicias Grill, 375 Georgesville Road, a lot.

Last month, the Franklin County Public Health Department issued operators of the business an emergency cease and desist order. Pictures, provided by inspectors, showed filthy floors, stacks of piled up dirty dishes and bugs crawling on food cutting boards.

Six days later, the restaurant addressed the health department’s concerns and re-opened.

This afternoon, inspectors did another follow-up inspection. They uncovered 26 violations including 11 critical ones, like live roaches.

So, on Oct. 9, the restaurant’s owner goes before the Franklin County Board of Health. The board could choose to suspend or revoke its food license.

This week’s NBC 4 Up To Code Award goes to Cardo’s Pizza and Tavern, 7897 Refugee Road, in Pickerington.
