SOUTH BLOOMFIELD, OH (WCMH) — A driver is recovering in the hospital after being pulled from a car fire in Pickaway County Monday afternoon.

South Bloomfield officials were called out to a report of a 3-car crash near the village at U.S. 23. One of the vehicles involved reported having issues with brakes, which caused the car to strike two trees and catch fire.

Police Chief Ken McCoy said a good Samaritan helped the female driver out of the car just minutes before it was engulfed in flames. She was taken to Grant Medical Center for further treatment.

Two other cars were damaged, but no major injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
