Giant Eagle has announced two voluntary recalls due to undeclared egg and soy allergens.

Monday evening Giant Eagle announced the recall of the store brand Little Italy Paninis due to an undeclared egg allergen. The paninis were sold through Monday in Pennsylvania and Ohio Giant Eagle and Market District supermarkets.

The individually sold paninis would have the below UPC’s.

·         97525 20399 Little Italy Panini, Cold

·         07369 20399 Little Italy Panini, Hot

Anyone with egg allergies should not consume the paninis.

In addition, Giant Eagle also announced a recall of the store brand Japanese Breaded Cod Fillets.

The cod fillets were sold in the Seafood department through Monday in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland. The fillets contain soy, which was not declared on the label.

The fillets were sold with the UPC number of 68106 31470.

Anyone with soy allergies should not consume the fillets.

Customers who have purchased any of the recalled items should dispose of them and return to the store for a refund.  Anyone with questions regarding the recall can call customer care at 1-800-552-2324.

According to Giant Eagle, no illnesses have been reported due to the recalled products.
