Friday Freebies: 2018 Ohio State Fair discounts and coupons


The Ohio State Fair is almost here, and there are tons of ways to save if you plan on going.

From savings on food and shopping to discounted admission, here are all the ways to save some serious cash while enjoying the fair:

Admission and ride wristband discounts

Through Aug. 5, fairgoers can save on admission by purchasing $6 tickets online through Ticketmaster or retail stores like Kroger and participating AAA locations (with an AAA membership). You can also save with ride-all-day wristband vouchers for just $20, available at Kroger stores through July 24.

4th Grade Agriculture is Cool program

Students leaving fourth grade (2017-2018 academic year) and one chaperone can get in free for a day to enjoy the interactive Ag is Cool program. Just present a valid report card or valid homeschool form at the entrance.

Wednesday, July 25

Pay just $3 for admission until 3pm.

Thursday, July 26

Bring a wish list item with you and you’ll receive a voucher for $3 admission before 6pm. The following items are on the wish list for the Telhio & Ronald McDonald House Charities Day: new packages of sandwich or snack baggies, kitchen trash bags, aluminum foil, plastic food wrap or canned food. All donations support families at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio.

Friday, July 27

Put your grocery shopping to use and save on admission. Just spend $100 at Meijer between July 13 and July 27, and you can get two free admission tickets by showing your dated receipt at the booth outside the entrance gates. This offer is valid on Friday, July 27 only.

Sunday, July 29

Veterans and active military members are admitted free on July 29. Please present a valid government-issued ID.

Monday, July 30

Until 6pm, adults can take advantage of $8 admission and kids 12 and under get in free as part of the NBC4 Family Discount Day. Additionally, you can buy one ride wristband and a second rider can ride free until 6pm with a hand stamp. After 6pm, all riders need a wristband or vouchers.

Tuesday, July 31

Seniors age 60 and over can take advantage of $4 admission at the gate all day long.

Thursday, Aug. 2

If you’re a AAA member, you can get $4 admission vouchers for each member of your party by showing your current membership card at a booth outside the entrance gates.

Friday, Aug. 3

No luck with your lottery ticket? No worries! Fairgoers ages 18 and over can bring a non-winning Ohio Lottery ticket to a booth outside the entrance gates and get one $4 admission voucher.

Saturday, Aug. 4

If you’re an Ohio soybean farmer or a member of the Ohio Soybean Association, you can get free fair admission and each member of your party can get a $4 admission voucher from the Ohio Soybean news magazine.

Sunday, Aug. 5

Bring any empty Pepsi Product to a booth outside the entrance gates and receive a $3 admission voucher for every member of your party. This offer is only valid until 3pm.
