COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Police say one suspect is in custody after a standoff with SWAT teams left one person dead in east Columbus on Thursday.
Police received a call around 4:27pm regarding an injured woman in the 6000 block of Chinaberry Drive.
According to a press release, officers found 39-year-old Lucille McCauley severely injured near 6200 Chinaberry Drive.
McCauley’s husband, 39-year-old Keith McCauley II, was arrested by SWAT officers in front of his residence after a standoff that lasted several hours.
Lucille McCauley was transported to Mount Carmel East in critical condition, and later died from her injuries around 5:06pm.
