DUI suspect tries to bribe arresting officer with beer

MARIETTA, GA (WXIA) — Police body cam video shows an allegedly drunk Marietta, Georgia man try to bribe a officer with cash and beer.

According to the police report, 24-year-old Lazaro Hernandez was arrested around 2:40 a.m. on June 3 after he allegedly tried to pass an officer who was directly traffic following an accident.

Hernandez refused to take the walking part of the field sobriety test and grew argumentative when the officer began to arrest him.

“I’m not driving under the influence of alcohol, you need to finish your [expletive] test,” Hernandez said.

Hernandez never finished the test and refused to take a breathalyzer.

One he was placed in the patrol car, Hernandez began to try and negotiate, saying he’d give the officer $400 in total, plus he’d throw in some beer.

At one point, Hernandez tried to get the officer to take him in on a different charge, such as “super speeding.”
