CRIME OF THE WEEK: Police asking for tips in northeast Columbus shooting

Columbus Police are asking for the public’s help figuring out who was responsible for firing multiple shots into a northeast Columbus home and injuring one woman last month.

In the early morning hours of May 10, officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Brentnell Boulevard on the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

Police say the victim and other witnesses say they were inside the residence when several unknown people began firing shots into the home. Police were unable to locate any suspects, but investigators hope a neighbor or someone in the area will come forward with information.

“It was a pretty quiet time of the night. People are mostly asleep, there’s not a lot of action going on, so you would think that you would have heard either individuals or maybe a vehicle,” said Central Ohio Crime Stoppers president Kristen McKinley.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the people responsible for this crime. Anyone with information is urged to contact Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS(8477). You can also submit a tip online at or through the free P3 Tips app, available for iOS and Android devices. All tips are anonymous.
