A child is dead and two others were injured after a vehicle was rear-ended on Interstate 70 in Licking County on Friday.
The crash occurred just after 8 p.m. when Jeffrey Williams of Greensburg, Pennsylvania was rear-ended by Brian Yockey of Granville after he had slowed down because of heavy traffic on the highway while traveling westbound, on the ramp from State Route 158 to I-70 westbound, according to witnesses.
Both vehicles traveled off the right side of the roadway and came to rest outside the traffic way, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers from the Granville Post.
Williams was traveling with three passengers, including one adult and two children.
The child in the left rear seat died as a result of her injuries. The driver and both other passengers were transported to area hospitals, according to troopers.
The crash remains under investigation.
