CHICAGO, IL (WFLA) – Horrifying video captures a Chicago man being shot while he was on a Facebook Live video stream.

The 31-year-old Chicago man is fighting for his life Friday following the brazen midday shooting, police said.

The attack was streamed live on the victim’s Facebook page Thursday. Several versions of the stream have gone viral.

The victim was recording himself standing at a street corner outside a convenience store in a residential neighborhood at around 4:50 p.m.

The video captures the victim talking before the sound of gunshots can be heard and the victim falls to the ground. Moments later the gunman can be seen entering the video with a handgun clearly visible. The video stream shows the gunman firing several shots. In all, over a dozen shots are heard in the video.

“Oh my God, no,” a woman is then heard screaming. “No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no…Oh my God, I don’t believe this. I don’t believe this.”

Officials say following the shooting, the gunman jumped into a vehicle and fled the scene.

The victim is a documented gang member, said a WGN-TV report, citing police. He was hit multiple times and taken to the hospital, where he is in critical condition, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Chicago police tell the paper they are aware of the video and are “working to validate the authenticity of the video.”What others are clicking on:
